High or Low? How will I know?
Here are some of the most common symptoms of low and high blood sugar. It's important to know that high blood sugar (hyperglycemia) often goes unrecognized and therefore, untreated. This is the reason that there are so many people who have diabetes and don't know it!
Low Blood Sugar (Hypoglycemia): Feeling shaky, dizziness, heart pounding, headache, sweating (profuse/more than is normal for you)
High Blood Sugar (Hyperglycemia): Tired, extreme thirst, frequent peeing, blurry vision, **recurrent infections (late sign), **slow/non-healing wounds (late sign), **weight loss (late sign)
**late signs will occur when our blood sugar has been consistently high over a long period of time.
